"Talking Time Tutor" will have your child telling time in no
time! Your child will hear the time spoken using high quality
digitized speech. TTIME provides a variety of different time
activities each with three skill levels. Activities include
setting the analog clock to match the digital watch, setting
the digital watch to match the analog clock, setting the analog
clock to the spoken or written time, and setting the analog clock
to a future or past time. Additional features are provided to
entertain your child as he/she learns. Each analog clock has it's
own animation routine. For example the eyes in the owl clock move
back and forth. The colors of the wrist watch may be changed. A
bear on the screen tells time-related jokes or asks your child
questions about time. Isn't it about time you invested in
"Talking Time Tutor" for your child?
"Talking Time Tutor" was developed with the help of my daughters -
Lisa (7), Kristy (4), and Julie (3mos.), (well I don't know how
much help Julie was!) I hope your children enjoy our program as

Change Analog Clock (SpaceBar)
Click on the center of the analog clock, (or press the SpaceBar),
to switch to a different clock. In the shareware version there
are 2 analog clocks, the registered version contains 6.
Animate Clock - Pocket Watch - Fives Display (F5)
Click the area near the stem of the pocket watch or press F5 when
the pocket watch is displayed. The computer will display the count
by fives just outside each clock number. For example a 5 will be
displayed outside the one, 10 outside the two, 15 outside the three,
etc. If Speech and Say Fives are set to Y in the program options
window, the clock numbers will be highlighted as each 5's digit
is displayed.
If you click the stem area a second time the 5's display will change
to show the numbers 5 to 30 outside the clock digits 1 to 6 and the
numbers 25 to 5 outside the numbers 7 to 11. This display will help
your child understand the "till" times, i.e. when the minute hand
is on the 7, it is 25 minutes till the next hour.
Click the stem area a third time to erase the 5's display. These
options are also available when inside one of the activities
(F1-F4), if the pocket watch is displayed.
Animate Clock - Other Analog Clocks (F5)
Each of the other analog clocks have an animation associated
with them. Activate this option by pressing F5 or by clicking in
the top area of the clock, for example - on the owl clock, click
on the owl's head. For each clock, except the pocket watch
described above, this option will set the clock to the current
time and activate the animation routine. The clock will remain
in this mode, maintaining the current time, until any key is
pressed, or a mouse button is clicked. When the bear clock is
displayed, you may notice a delay as the bee must complete
part of its loop before stopping.

1:30 and you are asked what the time will be in 1 hour and 15
minutes, you would set the time on the analog clock to 2:45.
Move the hands of the analog clock as described in the Analog
Clock Operation section. When the time on the analog clock matches
the correct future or past time, activate the OK button and you
will hear a beep and the number of correct answers will be
incremented and displayed. You will then return to Free Play mode,
where you may select this or another activity.
